More from Cambodia

Here's a happy little video to start/end your day: It's Good to be Alive
Also, here are a few more pictures from our trip to Cambodia.  If you don't like spiders, don't look.  If you want to eat some, you would probably have to come to Cambodia because I don't think we could bring them into the US.  Enjoy!

So, for the last day of our meetings in Cambodia, they brought in some delicious insects for us to enjoy!

Delicious, huh?

Yes, if you're guessing, out of the three men, just this one, Ricky, ate his spider.

There were lots of choices of delicious insects, but for some reason, everyone chose a spider. Here they are: Eating Insects

These sure looked like deep fried cockroaches to us and not too appetizing!  The grasshoppers and crickets might actually be edible if you are really hungry.

Actually, Leon's wife came over for the last day and she tasted the spider legs, too.  She said they were okay.

It was such a great experience to be there.

We saw several cows in different places but they always seemed to be pretty skinny.
Here's Leon, the Hong Kong manager, trying out a kind of motorized rickshaw.  Maybe he is looking for a new job?

We had a cultural night where we went to a big buffet with entertainment that included native instruments and dancing.

We took a video of the people playing the instruments but we can't find it.  Here's a couple of videos from youtube that show a little bit of what they were like:  similar music and here's another on:  more Cambodian instrumental music

Here were some of the dancers that you can watch here: Dances

Here are more of the dances: Dance 2

We also went to the outdoor market at night. See the fish tanks? Here's how you get  the dry skin off your feet.  You pay a fee and then stick your feet in the fish tank and they fish eat it off.  They did that in Japan, too, and several of the missionaries tried it there.  They told us that it tickles!

At the outdoor market, John, the manager from India, was looking for something for his wife but didn't know her size so he had a "substitute" model try it on for him.

Here are more of the selling areas in the Central Market.

Also, at the outdoor market there was a big line of people waiting to buy some fresh roasted insects to eat. They are well seasoned and they must be delicious! The managers from Cambodia told us that the people who do this just go out in the fields to find the insects to sell. We saw a couple of different carts and they both had lines of people waiting to buy!

Here's another little movie: At the Buddhist Shrine

Here's Chad Furness, the Asia Area Self-Reliance manager giving some instuctions.

Some pamphlets in the Cambodian language.

There are cute and happy kids all over the world.

This cute little girl helped her mom give us a demonstration on making spring rolls.
All to soon it was time to head to the airport to return home to Hong Kong.

These stone statues live in the airport at Siem Reap
Also, this is inside the airport.

The Siem Reap airport kind of reminds us of the Kona airport on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Here are the beautiful fields and a nice golf course as viewed from our plane as we flew into Bangkok, Thailand on our way home, and we arrived back in Hong Kong  that evening. We hope you have a great day/evening and it's so good to be alive!
