Light of the World

Here's Tom and Helen and their sweet daughter,  Mary, and they were just baptized this week.  We only show a few of the people who have been baptized here but this family has a wonderful story of seeking out the Church on their own.  Tom was introduced to the concept of Christianity while in the USA while he was taking a short course for his work.  Since then he and his family have been studying several churches and then they recently decided to investigate The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He and his family received a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and then requested baptism.  This senior missionary couple along with some of the young missionaries, helped to teach them the gospel.
Do you like art?  We have a wonderful exhibit
of paintings, photos and other art forms that were created by members of the Church called "Light the World" displayed at the (Tsim Sha Tsui) TST Cultural Center. Several of the senior missionaries and young missionaries transported and hung the artwork which was a huge task that took many hours.  We will be involved in the take-down of this display Friday night.  There are some very talented artists in the Asia area and there will be many people who will view and enjoy this artwork. We think you might enjoy scrolling through this some of this exhibit which is shown below.

These colorful selections of pictures were drawn by the children.

Tom Crockett, the photographer, was a senior missionary here and he recently returned to work in public affairs at the Asia Area office.  He was also recently called to be a branch president (like a Bishop) in one of the branches.

We're wishing you all a "Blessed Day in Jesus".

Avenue to the Stars

Good Morning everyone! You're just in time for our international breakfast: Orange juice from Florida, Milk from Australia, bananas from the Philippines, blueberries from Oregon, Canada or Chile, and of course cereal from the good old USA!

While we were out walking, we saw this "pretty" car celebrating a new bride and groom.

Also, we've walked by the sign pointing to the Avenue of the Stars a million times but we finally decided to check it out and follow the footsteps to get there.

These are stars from Hong Kong who made it big.  Unfortunately we don't know who they are but perhaps you do.

Here's Bruce Lee and some of you might recognize him.  You can read about him in Wikipedia: BRUCE LEE

Here's more about the Avenue of the Stars on Wikipedia. AVENUE OF THE STARS

Sweet, huh?

This must be where the stars memorialize their hand prints.

We walked a little further up to Signal Hill where they used to have a "time ball" in the tower which would start to drop at noon signaling to the ships what time it was.

Here's the tower but it no longer has the ball in it. There was a bride and groom getting their photos taken.  Do you think that perhaps the car we saw earlier was theirs?

We hope that you enjoy the beauty of the hill as we did.

This photo is actually of the little park by the temple where we were Thursday again, and it was so pretty that we took another photo of it, too.

Last night we visited with the "Thursday" sisters who had a badminton and basketball family night. We had fun being with them and playing games with them.  We hope you all have a great "game-filled" day, too!
