Hi Everybody,
The best news is that our grandson, Taylor, returned from his mission! He served in the Raleigh, North Carolina mission where he taught most of his investigators in Spanish.
WELCOME HOME, TAYLOR!

How's this for a great view of somewhere in Hong Kong? |
And this? |
We just celebrated Dragon Boat festival day but we were unable to go see the boats.
Here's a few images from the internet of the boats |

Some of the employees have been buying big rice dumplings to eat for the festival and if you read the link, you'll know why.

We also thought you might enjoy a few photos from along the street where some of the Filipinos and Chinese shop and in the wet market. This street is where where we mostly do our grocery shopping but in a nice grocery store, Park and Shop. |

The day these photos were taken was the Dragon Boat festival day and you can see that in many places there are Filipino and Indonesian women who are required to leave the apartments where they work serving a family on their day off or an occasional holiday. They pick a spot and stay there during the day. |
However, this is what the sisters in our church did instead. We had a service project for "Days for Girls" and they worked so hard and so long on this. They are amazing women and so willing to help others. On their day off, they come to the church and on a holiday there is a service project or activity that they are happy to do. It was amazing to see all that they accomplished! |
So many of these sisters have had to leave their children at home and they were happy to hold one of the expat's baby for her. Many of them do tend children as part of their domestic duties, too. |
These are the new graduates from one of the free sewing classes that are held at the church. They were busy putting their new skills to use sewing for the "Days for Girls Project". |
We all actually posed for these photos but we thought you might like to see them anyway. We were told that this slide will be used in a PP presentation to the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve. Gary told the photographer to remove the old guy from the picture and it would look a lot better!
We also thought you might enjoy seeing how beautifully some of the sisters set and decorated for the stake presidents' dinner that was held at the Area office. The husbands all worked hard serving and clearing and washing dishes and I think Elder Chandler worked the hardest. |
At night before we go to bed, Elder Chandler and I like to watch talks from our prophet, President Monson, and others. If you have time, I think you might enjoy watching or reading this about following Jesus. Be an example and a light
