Jade Market

First, here's sweet sister Cherry who was recently baptized.  She also gave a wonderful testimony about how grateful she was to have the blessing of being able to hear the gospel and accept it.

On our way to catch the bus to go to the Jade Market, we saw this car and driver waiting for the groom and bride to come.  Isn't that cute?

We also passed by a park on our way and saw this man shown below singing in some kind of contest or performance:

These items made of jade and other precious gems are beautiful but also expensive. The shops sell jade and other stones of all shapes and sizes and colors, and this market has at least a hundred shops which sell the same or similar items.  Every person there tried to sell us something, too!  The prices were all over the place for the same and different items.  Maybe next time we'll need to bring one of our Chinese friends with us just in case we decide to buy something.

On our way home we saw this display. Do these cartoon characters look familiar to any of our grandchildren?

Do you think this might be a good place to rest and meditate? These praying hands are close by the Kowloon mosque and Islamic center.

We thought you might like to see the back of the pants of this mainland Chinese visitor to "end" our post.  We send our love and best wishes to you all!  Have a great day.

Nan Lian Garden

Wanlapa Kaewka, a sweet Thai sister who is in our family home evening family group, wrote and posted  on Facebook  the photo shown above with the message listed below and we thought it was worth posting again.

"I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and try to live it everyday.  I 'm not perfect but Jesus He is great. I learn from Him to do my best to better my self every day and I always feel like it's remembering something I already knew a long time ago."

                    Here's a photo of Wanlapa.

On our way to Nan Lian Garden we saw lots of new residential towers under construction in Kowloon.

Also, on our way to visit Nan Lian Garden we stopped at Hammer Hill Park.

Can you see the beautiful vines hanging from the trees?

Below is an explanation of the Garden and Nunnery.
 Chi Lin Nunnery
Established in 1934 and renovated in Tang dynasty style (AD 618–907) in 1990, the Chi Lin Nunnery is a large temple complex of elegant wooden architecture, treasured Buddhist relics and soul-soothing lotus ponds. The complex also includes a series of temple halls, some of which contain gold, clay and wooden statues representing divinities such as the Sakyamuni Buddha and bodhisattvas.
Nan Lian GardenCutting through Diamond Hill’s myriad of high-rise apartments is the tranquil Nan Lian Garden, a public park also built in the style of the Tang dynasty. Its scenic garden is meticulously landscaped over an area of 3.5 hectares, in which every hill, rock, body of water, plant and timber structure has been placed according to specific rules and methods. There are permanent exhibitions of Chinese timber architecture, rocks and potted plants.

Info
Pictured above is one of the beautiful Lotus Ponds there at the garden.

Elder Chandler surrounded by beautiful flowers.  He looks a little drab next to the flowers.

Looking down on Nan Lian garden from the monastery.  All the hibiscus trees are in full bloom.

There are a lot of unusual and beautiful natural rock formations there. Unfortunately, there wasn't much information about them there or on the internet.

The garden was very reminiscent of Japanese gardens that we saw in Japan.  We haven't seen any other beautifully manicured gardens like this in Hong Kong.

Colorful hibiscus in bloom.

Here's a few carp (or at least carp family) swimming around in the pond.

Even the bushes are manicured.

One more video: More to see at Nanlian

You can't really see the little restaurant that is behind the waterfall but it would be a great place to go and eat.

More of the natural rocks found on the site.

Aren't these amazing rocks?

Here's a sweet and wonderful sister, Tess, who wanted a photo with us.  We love to have photos with the sisters.

Also, we wanted to post a photo with this wonderful self-reliance group of sisters who are ready to graduate from their Business Class.  They have amazing stories of faith and fortitude.
We hope you are all doing well and we hope you have a great day!
